To add really unlimited tiles I would need to change the whole map structure - possibly breaking compatibily with other plugins. My map editor plugin allows you to explore that extra room with additional tiles (but this is a premium feature, not available in the free version).Įven then it's only two extra tileset files.
Rpg maker as usual has a fixed number of tiles, but its tileset structure leaves enough room to add a few more without breaking anything. If instead of changing the tile size you want to add more tiles, that is a bit more complicated. So 64圆4 is the limit with most 'custom tile size' plugin. Plugins may also expand the texture size limit but I don't think there's any plugin that does that. Plugins can change the size of the tiles from 48x48 to something else, but rpg maker by default also has a limit to texture size (I don't remember exactly what size that is, but if you use 64圆4 tiles you'll hit the exact limit on your larger files). Rpg maker without any plugins has a fixed tileset size.
